Amerika, F. Kafka
What is it?
Kafka's works are strongly influenced by relations with his father. Works are full of suppression and dependence feelings.
Amerika is first Kafka's novel (as all others it was not finished).
The inspiration was taken from an important part of main hero's story where he was working as an elevator boy in a hotel. Kafka, master of place as he is often named, describes it as a competition between each other where a great amount of elevators try to deliver as many rich and powerful as possible in the shortest time.
This concept became an idea of the cover.
It was also crucial for us to avoid all similar covers of this book done before. We did not want it to be dark, use some Picasso like abstractions or silhouette pictures.
What we tried to avoid
Here are some old covers that we wanted to stand out from.
